Role in the project

The role of ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE ANTENNAS S.L. (AAA) in the project is to evaluate the “best in class” solutions of the emotions detection systems that are currently in the market. Even if they do not belong to the automotive field, the idea is to embark that systems in the tests and study which emotions are relevant to detect on board and which requirements does a camera should fulfil to detect emotions on board.

Founded in 1949 and headquartered in Barcelona, Ficosa currently has more than 10,280 employees in 16 countries around the world in Europe, North and South America and Asia, and has consolidated sales of 1,112 million euros in 2015. The rear vision system (interior / side mirror) is Ficosa's main business known worldwide and recognised by the world's leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). In July 2015, PANASONIC acquired 49% of the shares of Ficosa, thus starting an alliance of both capital and technical, and in March 2017 acquired a 20% more stake, with the will to accelerate the development of key technologies for the future of the automotive in the fields of connectivity, autonomous car, safety and efficiency. Advanced Automotive Antennas, S.L. (hereinafter A3) belongs to the Ficosa Group and manages the activities of the Advanced Communications Business Unit. The unit is located in the headquarters and main plant of Ficosa, in Viladecavalls (Barcelona). The unit has a specific team dedicated to research about monitoring the state of the driver. Ficosa is a leading supplier of high technology in the automotive industry and 15 years ago invested in vehicle communication systems.
